RET workshop - 2/12/2009
Next Tuesday the 8th of December Peter Reefman in conjuction with the Committee for Portland and the Alternative Energy Association will present a workshop about how the inclusion of domestic solar equipment is really hurting the large scale renewables industry, which is having a real and substantial impact on green jobs in Portland.

Energised zero-carbon house in The AGE - 26/11/2009
The AGE newspaper has run an article on the 8 Aquarius Crt zero carbon house. Melissa Fyfe called in with the Run for a Safe Climate runners, and conducted an interview based on the house's features and goals.

While the group toured the house, a film crew gave their own interview and footage to be included in a documentary based on the Run for a Safe Climate's objective of raising awareness to Australia's climate change impact and solutions. The house has been recognised as an example of the how houses need to be built for a low carbon future.

Energised house to be featured in magazine - 24/10/2009
The November edition of the Master Builder's of Victoria will have a feature story on very energy efficient houses, and our 8.1 Star house will be included. This magazine is a member magazine and has a distribution of approximately 7,000 builders. The magazine is not available for sale to the public however. But if you'd like a copy please email us and we'll look into distributing some copies.

Peter Reefman chosen as finalist in awards - 20/09/2009
Energised Homes' Peter Reefman has been chosen as a finalist in the Parks Victoria Regional Achievement Awards. Peter was nominated by from Deakin University along with approximately 50 others across Victoria, and was thrilled to be named in the top three nominations.

The winners were Conservation Volunteers, who organise an annual 100,000 DAYS of volunteer labour for environmental projects around the Ballarat region, so they were very deserving of winning the award.

The other finalist was Damascus College in Ballarat who's doing some really amazing things (like winning international solar powered bike races), and were deserving of the win too.

Special thanks to Sue Kilpatrick and Matthew Ebden at Deakin for the nomination.
